Stanton Shanedling
Dr. Stanton Shanedling recently retired after 45 years of practice in the public health arena. He presently is the co-host of Health Chatter podcast. Dr. Shanedling was the Supervisor of the Cardiovascular Health Unit at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) from 2005 – 2022. In this role he advanced the MDH agenda to improve cardiovascular health and reduce the burden of heart disease and stroke across Minnesota. Dr. Shanedling worked for UnitedHealth Group as a Senior Director, Strategic Operations in their European division training health care professionals in the United Kingdom in the areas of Chronic Disease Management and health system improvement. In addition, he served in various business development, research, and health care consulting roles with other non-profit and health care organizations. He holds an Assistant Professor position with the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health. Dr. Shanedling holds a Ph.D. degree in adult education/health education, a MPH in Maternal and Child Health and a BA in psychology all from the University of Minnesota. His professional interests include cardiovascular disease prevention, chronic disease management, and health disparities. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, training his dog, travel, and reading
