Dr. Brewer and the FAITH! program conduct research using the principles of community-based participatory research, or CBPR. This strategy highlights the importance of including community partners in every step of the research process, from developing a research idea to disseminating the results. To ensure that the voice of the community is heard and valued, Dr. Brewer and Mr. Clarence Jones, a Community Health Strategist and Director of the Hue-MAN Partnership, developed the FAITH! Community Steering Committee. Dr. Brewer and Mr. Jones serve as co-chairs and lead a diverse group of individuals who represent local faith, health, and community organizations. Our committee currently consists of 15 members and meets quarterly to discuss the FAITH! program. Committee members direct FAITH! initiatives and provide feedback on all aspects of the research, from study recruitment to dissemination efforts.
